The book was created on the basis of exclusive interviews made during meetings with Yuri Hatuevich Temirkanov, as well as publications, television ties and television films about him and with his participation, shot over the past 40 years. The author worked in the archives of Kabardino-Balkaria, talked with close relatives and friends of the maestro, visited his native village Zaragizh.
For the first time, Yuri Temirkanov appears in public in public not in a tailcoat for a conductor’s remote control, and his innermost thoughts and feelings are conveyed to the listeners not in the decoding of scores – but eyes to his eyes, word for word. The great conductor is us as a narrator, a philosopher, as a person in which, according to the poet, “unheard of simplicity” is embodied.
