Mikko Rimmin (1975), one of the most talented modern Finnish prose writers, wrote a sincere, daring novel about friendship. This story, funny and sad at the same time, begins with the fact that the main character by mistake calls the door of an unfamiliar apartment – and, in order to get out of an awkward position, pretends to be a researcher conducting a poll. This oversight leads her to the idea of ​​how to overcome the loneliness with which her life is saturated through and through … But the search for human heat is turned around for this eccentric – timid, responsive, sometimes naive woman, painfully similar to many of us – troubles and pulling a series of tragicomic situations. The novel was awarded the Finland Award, the most prestigious prize of the country. In Russian, the novel is published for the first time.
