In the book proposed, we print one hundred and thirty-one letters of Russian writers to Prince Alexander Borisovich Kurakin (1752-1818), whose originals are preserved in the princely archive; All of them are published for the first time and are of significant historical and literary interest. These letters are presented in twenty -two sections, each of which is dedicated to the individual writer – I. I. Bogdanovich, G. R. Derzhavin, D. I. Fonvizin, M. M. Kheraskov and others. Within the boundaries of each section of the letter are placed in chronological order. The response of the prince himself, if they are among his papers, are published by vacation and placed between letters according to chronology. As applications, individual sections are seven previously unknown works of Russian poets, whose manuscripts were between the papers of the prince.
