The novel “Tsarevich Demetrius” – I part of the trilogy of A.V. Galkin “Trouble” – about the most difficult “vague” time in the history of Russia (late XVI, the beginning of the 17th century, the formation of the Romanov dynasty). Her main character is the impostor False Dmitry I, who joined the Russian throne with the help of the Polish and Cossack army. False Dmitry considered himself a real prince, the son of Ivan the Terrible, saved from the killers sent by Boris Godunov. Having received a European education, he sought to direct his royal efforts for the good of Rus’, but did not manage to overcome the contradictions between different segments of the population. Boyars, Cossacks, commoners, Polish gentry – everyone wanted their own. In addition, he was humane and tried to rule without violence. As a result, he was killed by the boyars led by Vasily Shuisky in the Kremlin court. The secret of its origin has not yet been disclosed.
