Anna Andreevna Akhmatova is the largest poet of the twentieth century. In 1923, philologist B. M. Eichenbaum said about her work: “Akhmatova’s poetry for new people is not like us. We were perplexed, surprised, admired, argued and finally began to be proud. They did not need our delights. They did not surprise because they came later.”
The present edition presents a majority of Akhmatova’s creative heritage: the books “Evening”, “Roofs”, “White flock”, “Plantain”, “Anno Domini”, “reed”, “Running of time”, as well as the poem “Requiem”.
