Federigo Tozzi is an Italian writer, novelist, novelist, playwright, poet. In the history of European literature of the 20th century, it appears as the most outstanding Italian novelist over the past two hundred years, along with Giovanni Verga and Luigi Pirandello, and as the legislator of the Italian prose of the 20th century.
In 1918, Tozzi wrote the novels “estate” and three crosses in an extremely short time – about how monetary relations destroy human nature. Both novels were published posthumously (in 1920). In almost all works of Tozzi, we are talking about the people who are familiar to him – Tuscan peasants and small owners, about difficult, sometimes unbearable relationships between people. Siena occupies a special place in his books with its centuries -old history and unique charm. The true glory came to the writer when he had not been alive for a long time.
