The manual discusses the problems of the theory of teaching foreign languages ​​(linguodidactic foundations of teaching) in conditions of general and higher school. It summarizes the modern experience of teaching one of the sections of the course of foreign languages ​​- the theory of language teaching – from the perspective of basic for the methodology of disciplines: pedagogy, psychology, linguistics, sociology, cultural studies, taking into account the professional needs of the reader.
