The third separate rifle … forgotten. Collection of memoirs of the defense participants of the Moonsund Islands

This collection presents a brief history of the 3rd separate rifle brigade of the 8th Army of Eligion (north-western, northern, then the Leningrad Front) and its combat path during the joint defense of the Moonzund Islands in 1941, with the coastal defense of the Moonzund archipelago of the KBF. An attempt was made on the basis of the existing archival material and the memoirs of participants in combat operations on the islands, to show the fighting of the brigade from 06.22.1941 to 10/22/1941 on the islands and mainland, to analyze the degree of interaction between the command and personnel of the brigade and coastal defense of the KBF. The collection contains the memories of the participants in the defense of the islands, mostly not published earlier, who complement, clarify or refute each other, giving the reader a reason for thought.
The collection was prepared by relatives of the defense participants of the Moonzund Islands of the 3rd separate rifle brigade, based on the personal archive of N.A. Lukina and supplemented with materials from the background …
