The book includes three essays, an expense about the work of the largest prose writers of the Soviet era. Each chapter presents biographical material, the analysis of the main works is given. However, both creative and literary facts are not important in themselves, but are formed in the portrait, the plot of the fate of Babel, Bulgakov and Zoshchenko. This goal is the author’s style and composition: brief chapters with intriguing titles, poetic epigraphs, leitmotifs.
The book can be addressed to a fairly wide audience, from specialists for whom a discussion on the problems raised to schoolchildren is important for whom the book can serve as an additional material for the school curriculum.
