Solzhenitsyn and Media in the space of Soviet and post -Soviet culture: Lyudmila Saraskina

The theme of the new book of the series “Testing to the Future” Doctor of Philological Sciences L.I. Saraskina is vast and instructive, since it reflects, in addition to the realities of the life and work of the writer, the significant and iconic milestones of Soviet history and the press. The book discusses the official materials of the Soviet era (1962-1974), the secret documents of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the KGB SSS R (from 1965 to 1989), Samizdat of the Soviet era, Tamizdat (foreign materials of the Soviet era on Solzhenitsyn and their interaction with Soviet propaganda). After Solzhenitsyn’s return from exile (1994), a new milestone begins in the work of the media on the illumination of personality, creativity, social and political activity of the writer. The reaction of the domestic media to Solzhenitsyn, after his return to Russia, to a much greater extent characterizes the press itself than the writer and his creative, political, civil appearance.
