After the three -volume of the chosen works of the famous scientist, Academician M. L. Gasparov: “On poets”, “On poetry”, “On verse” – before his death in 2005, he wrote many new works for modern philological science. In the center of his attention during this period, the issues of linguistics of the verse were: the relationship of rhythm, rhyme, semantics and stylistics, on the one hand, and syntax, morphology, phonetics of poetic speech – on the other. It was the linguistics of the verse that became the main content of the IV, posthumous, volume of the chosen works proposed to readers. In addition, the book includes articles on the features of different systems of versification, analysis and interpretation of individual poems.
