The middle of the 9th century. The North Slovenia is torn by the feud. The elderly Novgorod Prince Gostomysl understands that its unification is necessary for the salvation of Rus’. Four sons of Gostomysl died in wars and from illness. Three daughters remained. The Magi and the elders do not want to see the heir to the throne of the senior princely grandson Vadim, baptized in the Latin faith, who also makes friendship with the Normans. Gostomysl sees a prophetic dream, according to which a rustle should inherit the power, the grandson of the middle daughter of the Umila, who married the Prince of Prince Godoslav. Prince Gostomysl sends the messengers to the Varangians-Rusi and calls for a rustle with the brothers Truvor and Sineus to accept reign in Novgorod.
