The present publication includes the poems “Journalist, reader and writer”, “Poet”, “Angel”, “Prophet”, “My Demon”, the poem “Demon” and the novel “Hero of our time” by M. Yu. Lermontov with the illustrations of M. Vrubel to these works.
The Lermontov theme appeared in Mikhail Alexandrovich Vrubel in 1884-1885 and passes through his whole life. The artist’s work on the courage of aesthetic searches, in the depth of thought, symbolic generalization, turned out to be the congenial creatures of the poet. The jubilee publication also included graphic works by M. Yu. Lermontov.
