Valery Levitina (Miraitskaya) was born in Simferopol, where her childhood and youth passed. She graduated from the medical institute, worked as a doctor; Then she moved to Kharkov, defended her thesis and worked for 14 years in a military hospital. After seven and a half years, refusing, in 1987, Levitina finally received the right to leave and has been living in the USA since then in Chicago. Valeria began to write poetry at school, but then fell silent for many years. Only having mastered the English language well, she appreciated her native Russian in a new way and returned to poem about 15 years ago. In 2012, her first book was published – “The Bracious Sun of Badness.” “One hundred on the contrary” is the second book by V. Levitina.
