Monuments to the Russian army abroad (XVIII – early XX centuries): Batorevich, Kozhitsev

The book introduces the reader to architecture, the history of the construction of military monuments: triumphal columns and arches, obelisks and pyramids, chapels, temples built in different countries of Europe – Bulgaria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Belarus, etc.
Currently, many monuments that were previously located on the territory of the Russian Empire, and later the Soviet Union, ended up outside Russia. They remained in the memory of Russians, but not many of them can go beyond the country to see the monuments of gratitude to the Russian soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom of Russia and the peoples of Europe.
When writing a manuscript, the authors used a significant amount of archival material. The old engravings, photographs of different eras, the memories of contemporaries given in the text will make it possible to transfer the reader to the reader 2-3 centuries ago, by the time of the creation of monuments.
