“Memories of the dance” – the continuation of what was described in the previous book of V. Kotykhov – “Fuet”. Some chapters, complemented and expanded, are also represented here, but there are many new ones. This is the head of the “reflection”, which tells about a dance captured by such artists as Renoir, Burdel, Matisse, Toulouse-Lottrek, Sera, Severini, Serov, Serebryakov, Sargent, Cocteau … about a special, reverent relationship between artists and dance.
The book also tells about a long -standing novel that did not lose its attractiveness today that happened between the ballet and the high fashion – “Ot -Couture”.
New legends appeared in the book – Maria Talloni, Lev Bakst, Isadora Duncan, Maurice Begard, Fred Aster … And, of course, all this appears “with pleasant cheerfulness”, but not devoid of some piquancy. Indeed, in this topic we went far ahead compared to the beginning of the 19th century.
The book is designed for the widest circle of readers interested in the ballet art of the past and the present.
