Dear reader, let the word “fairy tales” on the cover of this book not mislead you. Not all fairy tales are cheerful, frivolous or written for children. In my fairy tales there are no princesses, no dragons, nor evil sorceresses, no magic objects, except, except perhaps, talking hours. But who is now surprised by talking hours? This book is about very simple things. About tide, about yellowed postcards from the sea, about apple pies, about strong coffee with the smell of tobacco, about wings sewn from a down pillow, and about straw hats. In this book there is a fairy tale about a man who flew away every fall with migratory birds, about a man who covered the city with snow on Christmas Eve, and about the end of the world, which never happened. This book is about those trifles that consists of love.
