Boris Sverdlov is a recognized master of lyrical poetry. The theme of love is the main thing in his work. But this is love not only for a woman, but also for the homeland. To that “small” Astrakhan homeland, on which his talent grew and strengthened. The new book includes recently written poems and works that have already become the classic of the poetry of the Lower Volga. As in its previous collections, “outskirts”, “steppe past”, “a little about love”, “second wind”, “holidays of love”, “if I repeat in this life”, “dear, small”, “I must”, “I am attached to the Volga”, who came out in Moscow, Volgograd, Astrakhan, and Sverdlov remains a real lyrics – bright and figurative.
The author, celebrating his 60th anniversary in January 2014, is a laureate of all-Russian literary awards named after V.K. Trediakovsky and the Clear Sky, many regional literary awards. He was awarded the medal “forever together” of the Republic of Kalmykia and the public order of Sergei Yesenin.
