The book talks about the fate of people who, to one degree or another involved in the history of the Battle of Stalingrad. These are not only fighters who are directly involved in the battle, but also the people who were in the city under fire in the very center of events. Ordinary people who were completely unsuccessful for war showed themselves completely different in these conditions. But everyone firmly believed that the victory is inevitable, that we are already stronger than the Nazis, and there is nowhere to retreat further.
