Ostrovsky’s lyrical plays that amaze with the variety of plots and characters.
They can be tragicomic, as “truth is good, but happiness is better”, frankly and slandered by the tragic “late love”, “last victim” and “heart is not a stone” – or even fantastic, like “Snow Maiden”.
However, all of them, the inconsistent outwardly, are saturated with psychologism, an unusual depth of understanding of love and relationships between a man and a woman, are always difficult relations, but therefore more interesting to a modern reader.
