Viktor Ivanovich Ilyukhin was the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security, a member of the State Duma Commission on Corruption, a member of the State Duma Commission for the consideration of federal budget expenditures aimed at ensuring the defense and state security of the Russian Federation, the chairman of the political movement “in support of the army, defense industry and military science” (DPA).
V.I. Ilyukhin became one of the most acute critics of the political power of Russia. Among the numerous issues he dealt with, an important place was occupied by the Katyn business. Ilyukhin collected extensive information proving that this case was directed not only against Stalinism and the Soviet system, but also against Russia as a whole. In essence, it became part of the new Crusade of the West against our country. In this regard, the position of the official Russian authorities in the “Katynsky case” serves their verification for true commitment to the national values of Russia, proved by V.I. Ilyukhin.
