The works that are published in this collection tell about New Zealand the last quarter of the 20th century. The novel “June and Mervin” is based on the story of the tragic love of “white” a girl from one of the richest families of the country and the poor young man-maoria. The novels and stories “Dream”, “Game”, “Arika Rahu”, “All our Blood”, “Harp”, “The Last Distributed Light”, “Fiasco Champion”, written in the eighties in English (it was assumed that they would initially be published by one of the Oklandic publishing houses) and offered to the reader in a translation, describe the most different aspects of life in the country of a long white cloud. The story “Ambassador, resident and ballerina” (magazine “Feat”, No. 5, 1998) is also about love. It has a life analogue, and because all such stories are eagerly, and romantic and sad.
