The book, which is the first part of the university course of the general history of the Church, is the first systematic review of sources on the general history of the Church, prepared in Russian science from the end of the XIX century. The textbook contains an overview of material and narrative sources grouped according to the main arrays (the works of ancient and medieval historians, canonical, hagiographic, liturgical, theological sources, memoirs and archival documents, mass sources), and extensive reference material. Springs are specially highlighted, produced by international Christian organizations (VSC and others).
