Insects in Russia. Beetles, butterflies and others: Vladimir Gorbatovsky

The book is dedicated to insects – the most numerous in the species variety of creatures not only in Russia, but also on our planet. Their share among organisms inhabiting the Earth accounts for more than 70%! Insects can be found almost everywhere – in the concrete “jungle” of the metropolis, in the personal plot, in the meadow, in the forest, in the tundra, in the desert and even on distant Arctic islands, where ice cold reigns.
The format of the book does not allow to cover the whole variety of this gigantic group of animals, so it was based on essays about those insects that can often be seen. The publication is illustrated by copyright photographs and remarkable drawings from classical editions on entomology of the early XX centuries of famous scientists: G. G. G. Jacobson, K. Lampert, V. L. Bianchi.
