The great Jacomo Leopardi (1798-1837) Schopenhauer called “a poet of world sorrow.” Leopardi’s life ended early, and his poetic heritage is small: one collection of poems Canti (songs). And moreover, in Italian literature, he rightfully stands next to Dante and Petrarch. In Russia, the most famous translations of A. Akhmatova and A. Naiman are well -known. The book of T. Stamova’s translations included the chosen poems of the poet and an essay dedicated to the literary hoaxes of Leopardi.
