Easter gave Russian literature more than images, motives, plots, episodes – she gave the genre of Easter story.
The Easter story is edifying – he teaches good and Christ love; He is designed to remind the reader gospel truths. His plots are spiritual penetration, moral degeneration of man, the resurrection of “dead souls.”
In the series “Easter Stories” is presented as well -known names of Russian literature: F. Dostoevsky, N. Leskov, A. Chekhov, L. Andreev, A. Kuprin, I. Shmelev, I. Bunin, and now forgotten fiction writers, authors of numerous journal and newspaper publications of centuries -long ago.
The Easter story is connected with the events from the Great Lent to the Trinity and the Dukhov day. Therefore, the logical continuation of the cycle is the “Trinity Stories” that do not have such a wide fame. However, their authors are familiar to every lover of domestic literature: V. Nikiforov-Volgin, N. Taffy, A. Averchenko.
