Hesperids: Robert Herrik

The book includes the works of the remarkable English poet Robert Herrick – his famous book “Hesperida” and other poems. With a careful study of “Hesperid”, you can see that behind the mask of the singer “fleeting moments” is hiding the poet -philosopher attentive to his modern England, and the Hesperides themselves are a small “encyclopedia” of that era, a meticulously thought -out and carefully composed book, and not just a set of poems. The poetry of Herrick in the musicality of the syllable, the brilliant technique of verse and emotional intensity, as modern researchers admit, is on a par with the works of his great contemporaries and descendants: Spencer, Milton, Draden, Wordsworth and Shelley. Herric composed love poems, epigrams, initiations, wedding songs. In the Hesperids, a separate block is highlighted “pious poems” of Christian themes. The publication is accompanied by the poet’s biography, articles about creativity and detailed comments.
