Haiku: Matsuo Basyo

Basa is a classic of Japanese poetry, which developed aesthetic principles of poetry in the style of Haiku. The poet with minimal language means penetrates the essence of the moments of what is happening in nature and in life, prompting the reader to independent philosophical reflection.
The musicality of the verse and visual perception corresponds to the visual series of this publication. The first part is illustrated by the calligraphy of the famous Japanese artist Ryuska Morimoto and the drawings of May Miturich – artists worked in close community for many years; In Russia and Japan, their joint exhibitions were held; In the second part, the verses were illustrated by M.P. Miturich and in the third part, the watercolor landscapes of Japan May Miturich are presented and, of course, the poetry of the bass echoes them.
This lyrical, exquisite book is the last lifetime work of the master of book illustration of academician May Petrovich Miturich -Khlebnikov.
