The period from 1989 to 1999. – Perhaps the most difficult in the history of our country, which we called in one word – “timelessness”. The collapse of the country and the followed degradation and decline affected all aspects of society, including the state of the country’s armed forces. The fourth book of our five -volume historical encyclopedia is devoted to this period. Some chapters tell about the participation of special forces in conflicts in Transnistria, Tajikistan, Transcaucasia, as well as operations in the first Chechen campaign. The authors, military officers, both now and in stock, strongly pay attention to the fact that over time the tasks of the parts and compounds of special intelligence have changed. Their main activity, since the days of Afghanistan, is now connected with the anti -Partizan struggle. The most famous operations of the special forces of the specified period are analyzed.
