The “Terrestre Terrestre” was called the project of the first French tank, which really looked like a ship and equipped with a special “bushprit” for a breakthrough of barrage of barbed wire. However, in the end, the designation “assault wagon” was established, and the first tank parts were called “assault artillery”, the emblem of which became a knightly helmet against the background of crossed guns.
Faced with the “positional crisis” of the First World War, making sure of the fruitlessness of the slow “gnawing operations” and the need to accompany the attacking infantry with mobile armored artillery, the French command relied on a new “miracle-weapon”, for six months lagging behind in the production of tanks from English allied for a whole year ahead of the Germans.
