The seventh edition of the military-historical novel-trilogy “Stand and Go” tells about the Afghan war and covers the period since 1979, when Soviet troops entered the DRU, and until 1992, when our advisers left the Afghan land.
The main characters of the novel were military leaders Army General V.I. Varennikov, Colonel General B.V. Gromov became the heroes of the Soviet Union, are included in the list of “100 great commanders” who multiplied the military glory of Russia. Through the fates of the special forces: the brigade commander V. Grandmoskin, the battalion commander G. Bokov, the company D. Lyuboy, A. Kistenya, A. Chepurny, the platoon O. Yakut, helicopter -gunner N. Chukirin, political workers I. Dugin and G. Ivanov, other generals, warrant officers, sergeants and soldiers are shown vicissitudes, difficulties and hardships of the Afghan epics. Bright images and examples of heroism described in the novel contribute to the education of patriotism and raising the prestige of military service.
