Vasily Nikitich Tatishchev is an outstanding Russian statesman and scientist, who glorified his name for centuries by compiling the “History of the Russian”.
This book contains his works dedicated to the formation of the Moscow kingdom, and covers the historical period from the origin of Russian statehood in North-Eastern Rus’ to the reign of the first kings from the Romanov dynasty. The most famous historical figures of that time are described on its pages: Andrei Bogolyubsky, Khan Batu, Ivan the Terrible, Mikhail Romanov.
The special value and uniqueness of the historical work of Vasily Tatishchev is that it is based on the primary sources, which died in the Moscow fire in 1812 and became inaccessible to later researchers.
