Evgeny Vitkovsky (b. 1950) – an outstanding translator, writer, poet, literary critic. A student of A. Shteinberg and S. Petrov, Vitkovsky translated into Russian Smart and Milton, South and Kitsa, Wilde and Kipling, Camoens and Pessoa, Rilke and Kramer, Vonla and Hyugens, Rimbao and Valerie, McClin and Macyntire. He prepared and published unprecedented anthologies “Seven centuries of French poetry” and “Seven centuries of English poetry.” The site of the “century of translation” created by E. Vitkovsky has become a unique encyclopedia of Russian poetic translation and has more than 1000 names.
This publication includes the main translations of E. Vitkovsky in more than 40 years of work, and is quite fully represented by its creative spectrum.
