The training manual outlines some general provisions of quantum theory of the structure, spectra and chemical transformations of molecules.
The main attention is paid not to the mathematical side of the theory, but by the issues necessary for understanding the main assumptions, the role of models, additional (according to N. Bor) of matrix formalism and formalism of differential equations. The problem of accuracy of calculations as the result of comparing two unclear sets, the task of finding molecular structures and the impossibility of their prediction only on the basis of the first principles of quantum mechanics are discussed.
A special section is devoted to the analysis of the characteristics of chemical communication in molecules. A briefly set out the approach to the description of non -stationary processes – dynamic spectra and chemical reactions.
The book uses the experience of teaching by the author of the relevant sections to students of the IFTI, reading lecture courses at the chemical faculty of Moscow State University and in a number of European universities.
