The book is an introduction into economic anthropology – a scientific discipline that arose in the XX century. At the junction of sociology, economics and social anthropology. Many ideas presented here are well known to specialists in the corresponding narrow areas. At the same time, the author sets out his original concept that explains the cultural features of Russia by the process of transition from extensive to an intensive development model. It proceeds from the fact that an understanding of the role of cultural features in the economy and management is most important for a wide range of market participants, and not only for anthropologists.
