The Crusaders is one of the best works of the Polish writer Henrik Senkevich, the Nobel Prize laureate. The plot of the novel, resurrecting the pages of the heroic past of Poland, is organically intertwined with the romantic love story of the young gentry Zbyshka and the beauty Danushi. The culmination of the book is a battle of Grunwald, represented by Senkevich as a Polish -Lithuanian triumph.
