The book discusses the main problems of German vocabulary and phraseology. The provisions of modern linguistic semantics, theoretical lexicography and translation theory are used as a theoretical basis. In addition, a number of new questions are raised, the answers to which became possible only at the present stage of the development of the science of language. The main goal of this book is to show in a wide variety of examples than the lexical system of the German language differs from the Russian lexical system.
Many words and phraseological units that are considered to be complete equivalents (and this is how they seem to be a majority of famous German-Russian and Russian-German dictionaries), not in all cases can function as translated equivalents in the text.
