In the monograph, an attempt is made to combine various sections of classical statistical physics into a single whole. The theory stated is based on a single model of substance and on a single system of equations. In the monograph, an attempt is made to combine various sections of classical statistical physics into a single whole. The theory stated is based on a single model of substance and on a single system of equations. As such a system, the hierarchy of Bogolyubov’s equations – Borna – Green – Kirkwood – Ivon (BBGKI), is a consequence of the symbiosis of the postulates of two other fundamental theories – the theory of probabilities and classical mechanics; No other hypotheses to justify the equations of the BBGKI hierarchy – and, therefore, all statistical physics – is not required. Despite such a “narrow” (in quotation marks) the theory basis, it is followed, as shown in the book, the distribution of Gibbs and all the laws of equilibrium thermodynamics (including the law of increasing entropy), as well as the equations of hydrodynamics and the theory of fluctuation. Thus, on the one hand, the place of statistical physics in the family of fundamental physical sciences is determined, and on the other hand, the connection between the theory of equilibrium and nonequilibrium is established in the most general form …
