Childhood memory: Lidia Chukovskaya

The famous child psychologist Yu. B. Hippenreiter at his seminars often recommends books on the psychology of education. These books are in common that their authors are bright and talented people, our contemporaries and recognized classics of the twentieth century. The series “Library of Yu. B. Hippenreiter” – and there are those books from the priceless list of Julia Borisovna, important and relevant for each parent.
“Lidia Korneevna Chukovskaya (1907-1996) – Russian poet, prose writer, critic. This book is her memoirs about childhood and father, Kornya Ivanovich Chukovsky (1882-1969), a famous children’s writer, poet, literature.
Memories relate to the period of life in Kuokkal – the Finnish place, where the Chukovsky family lived all year round until the revolution. Next to their house was the cottage I.E. Repin – “penalties”. Families of the Chukovsky and Repins knew each other well. In both houses there were many famous people – Korolenko, Leonid Andreev, Chaliapin, Akhmatova, Gumilev, Mayakovsky.
