The action of the “Voice of Blood” takes place in Miami – a city where “everyone hate each other.” However, according to the apt remark of the reviewer “New Yorker”, this book is to the same extent about Miami in which “dead souls” are about Russia. Indeed, the “Voice of Blood” is primarily a novel about morals and characters, this is a “human comedy”, the action of which is transferred to modern America. The novel was released relatively recently, but fierce disputes are already underway about it: it seems to someone the top of Wolf’s work, someone accuses him of insufficient objectivity, addiction and even excessive entertainment. Such ambiguous assessments indicate only one thing – Tom Wolfe was able to interest, surprise and even shock readers who once again became convinced that they deal with a talented novel of a talented writer.
