In 1979, when Christian Lindner was born, Hans-Ditrich Gensher was already the chairman of the Free Democratic Party of Germany and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Social Liberal Coalition. In their conversations, which were conducted from December 2012 to February 2013 in Bonn, two liberals, a political elder, on the one hand, and the current politician, who is clothed with responsibility, on the other, they talk about what they are fighting for, and about their path to politics, the nature of their party, satellites and enemy, about Germany and Europe, about why the “new thinking” is extremely necessary. And not least about what drives them – about passion for freedom. This book is a discussion between two generations, between which, however, there is continuity and mutual understanding.
