Abbot Gotlib-Johann von Rosenau, one of the most prominent architects of the Holy Roman Empire, in 1157, by decree of Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa, went to Rus’ to build temples. On the way, many dangerous adventures awaited him. When he started work, it turned out that his mission was a cover of a grand falsification prepared by the Order of the Templars in order to strengthen the influence of the Catholic Church in Rus’. All this became known from the letters of the abbot found in the Vienna library.
