Maya Kaganskaya (1936-2010) – Israeli essay, literary critic and publicist, author of the Russian abroad. The first part of the book contains works, about V. Nabokov, O. Mandelstam, M. Bulgakov, M. Tsvetaeva, F. Sologub, A. Platonov, E. Zamyatin and other poets and writers. A new reading of many, including textbook works, is proposed. Thin, often paradoxical observations and the bold constructions of M. Kaganskaya are outlined by a brilliant style that has become the author’s business card. The second part of the publication included texts of a memoir character: peculiar “portraits” of time and people (M. Bakhtin, O. Freidenberg). A number of articles and essays are published for the first time. Many texts scattered through the now almost inaccessible periodicals are first collected in the same book.
