“Annoted Hunting for a Snark”, or “Annotized Snark,” is an outstanding book by an American journalist, writer, researcher, science popularizer Martin Gardner, continuing the Carroll theme in his work, which was launched by an “annotated Alice”. Gardner’s book collects and critically meaning the most significant comments and interpretations of the famous Carroll poem “Hunting for the Snark”, as well as his own interpretation.
This edition presents a new translation by Mikhail Matveev into Russian, which is accompanied by comments of the translator himself to the poem, as well as his articles.
The book contains articles and drawings of Henry Holyideus, the first illustrator of the “Hunting for the Snark”, as well as an additional “cry of the seventh-sser-pole”, composed by J. A. Lindon.
