This book is dedicated to a woman. Her power, weaknesses, strength, fearlessness and beauty – all in one person and under the same biblical name – Eve. In fact, each author of this book tried to tell his love story, often memoir-biographical, and even more often absolutely invented, but from this no less truthful and genuine. The task was only to collect a whole and finished portrait of a woman of life or, as the French say, Femme de La Vie from disparate and stylistically heterogeneous fragments.
The literary part of the collection is represented by the prose of leading domestic and Western writers. Many of these works first saw the light in the literary issue of Snob magazine (July-August 2011), but there are several stories that are published for the first time. Among the authors are Lyudmila Petrushevskaya, Michael Cunningham, Julian Barnes, Mikhail Shishkin, Olga Slavnikova, Zakhar Prilepin, Eduard Limonov and others.
