In June 1924, the expedition of the famous British climber George Mallory disappeared without a trace on the deadly northeastern shoulder of Everest. His colleague Richard Deacon developed a daring plan for the search for missing compatriots. He is especially interested in the fate of the young Sir Bromley, whose relatives believe that he is still alive, and are ready to pay for a rescue expedition. Thus, Deacon and two of his assistants find themselves in one of the most severe corners of the earth, at a huge height, where life is almost impossible. But in the course of advancement to the top of Everest, climbers realize that they are not alone here. They are haunted by something incomprehensible, terrible and inevitable. People begin to understand what happened to Mallory and his group. Will the same thing happen to them? After all, they are strangers on these ice and rocks, and the evil that pursues them is at home …
