A long time: Mikhail Nesterov

Mikhail Vasilievich Nesterov (1862-1942) belongs to the number of outstanding Russian artists of the late XIX – early XX centuries. His paintings are “Hermit”, “Vision of the Podsoka Bartholomew”, “Great Tonsure” and many others are recognized as classic samples of domestic painting. The brilliant landscape painter and portrait painter, Nesterov devoted the last years of his life to work on memoirs, which discovered the writer’s undoubted talent in the painter.
