The Russian officers of the XIX – early XX century. There was a wonderful tradition to publish the history of its regiment. The total number of regimental stories exceeds two hundred. When writing regimental stories, regimental archives and memories of officers were widely involved. Since most of these materials have been lost, this complex of publications is a valuable source for studying the history of the Russian army. In addition, this is a wonderful monument of Russian culture of its time. He demonstrates a high level of education of the best representatives of the officer corps, which allowed them to state complex material at a good scientific level.
