10 exercises for building color structures: Andrey Tukanov

By the beginning of the twentieth century, a progressive pedagogical system was formed in the German school of Bauhaus and the Russian Vhutemas, which included the discipline “Color” as a form -forming aspect of all design arts. In the 1930s, in art universities, they returned to the traditions of the 19th century with relatively isolated disciplines: “drawing”, “painting” and “sculpture”, which determined the decorative components of architectures and served technical means of “presentation” of projects. Today, after almost a hundred years since the time of Bauhaus and Vhutemas, it is necessary to reconsider the above traditions in line with modern artistic trends.
The author of the book Andrei Tukanov is an architect, artist and student of the outstanding painter V. G. Weisberg, who spent a parallel between his works and the work of the great German architect Ludwig MiS van der Roe.
