The book gives a general characteristic and classification of both neognestral and gunshot wounds. Modern views on wound ballistics, local and general reactions of the body to a wound are presented. The features of modern firearms and mine-explosive defeats are shown. A separate chapter is devoted to private issues of the diagnosis and treatment of damage to the skull, chest, thoracoabdominal wounds, damage to the musculoskeletal system, as well as main blood vessels and peripheral nerves. Much attention was paid to wound infection (gas gangrene, putrefactive infection, tetanus, sepsis and others), methods for its diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The issues of providing medical care at the stages of medical evacuation of the wounded, as well as issues of military medical and medical examination, were dismantled.
The book is recommended to students of medical faculties of medical institutes, students of faculties of training doctors, interns, residents, young surgeons.
